For 28 years, Paint the Town has grown as a joyous and lively celebration of the creative process -- a weekend of plein air painting in gorgeous, historic Annapolis Royal, NS.
As many as 80 artists set up their easels at the countless heritage sites and natural vistas around town. Watch as they work or join the bustle at the central auction site.
As paintings are completed, volunteers run the still-drying works back, so you can bid in the silent auction or snatch up your dream pieces immediately at the “buy it now” price.
The community embraces the event, offering places for artists to stay as well as porches, gardens and spaces to create. Favorites like Tom Forrestall, Rose Adams, Wayne Boucher and Geoff Butler make it a highlight of their summer each year. As well as these favorites, you will find many new, up and coming artists.
